Robert T. Homlar

Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Attorney
in Augusta, Georgia

Maybe it’s because I grew up watching Matlock, but I always knew that I wanted to be an attorney. Now, as I look at all the people I’ve been able to help throughout Georgia, South Carolina, and even other nations, I have no doubt that this truly is my calling.

What Kind of
Lawyer Are You
Looking for?

Truth be told, you may not know exactly what you’re looking for in a lawyer. Fortunately, I offer free case evaluations and will even help you find another attorney if you decide I’m not the right person to handle your case.

What Can I
Help You With?

Get justice for an injury, defective product, or wrongful death

When you or a loved one gets hurt because of someone else’s careless mistake, you have every right to take legal action. By filing a personal injury, products liability, or wrongful death claim, you can protect others from going through the same thing you have. As an added bonus, you can get paid for your pain and suffering.

Protect your rights & freedom
when you’re charged with a crime

Drug crimes, violent crimes, theft, firearms violations, murder — to me, your alleged crime isn’t what matters. What does matter is giving you the benefit of the doubt and fighting to make sure that a judge and jury do the same.

Report workplace fraud & avoid retaliation from your employer

If you suspect your employer has made a false claim, it’s your ethical duty to blow the whistle. Whistleblowing may have a negative connotation to some, but in reality, it gives you a chance to minimize or reverse the damages fraud can cause. And, if your case is handled right, you could collect a portion of those damages as a reward for doing your due diligence.

Don’t entrust your case to just anyone. Work with
a lawyer who has handled more than 50 jury trials.

Don’t let the courtroom dramas fool you — not every legal matter winds up going to trial. In fact, the majority of any case (criminal or civil) happens outside the courtroom.

Still, it’s always in your best interests to have a trial-ready lawyer on your side. That way, if your case takes an unexpected turn, or if you need to take a more aggressive approach to resolve your matter, you’ll know that you have the legal support you need to keep moving forward.

Criminal Cases & Trial

I’ve been handling criminal cases both in and out of the courtroom since 2002. For the first decade of my career, my role was to prosecute the criminally accused. Now, I use that experience and insight to defend those accused of drug crimes, crimes involving firearms, violent crimes, theft, white collar crimes, and so much more.

Personal Injury Cases & Trial

Generally speaking, most personal injury cases can be resolved without the need for trial. However, I prepare every claim as though it will go through every possible step the legal process has to offer. So, when you come to me after getting hurt by a defective product or losing a loved one in a car accident, you can trust that I’ll be ready to fight relentlessly for the outcome you deserve.

Other Civil Law Cases & Trial

Civil law is an extremely broad area of practice. At my firm, specifically, I have extensive experience representing clients involved in whistleblowing and false claims lawsuits, firearms law (this involves transfers, licensing, and compliance), and even equestrian law. As with my other areas of practice, I’m ready to represent your best interests in or out of the courtroom.
